You're asking for Tommy guns in a Napoleonic War game, here. Halberds weren't in use until the Middle Ages, and claymores were a Scottish weapon of the late Medieval period not commonly seen in Dark Ages Britain. Originally posted by Spudgun:We're about 300 years too early for the longbow, and well over 400 years too early for plate. This is getting too long so i'll stop, I just don't know if it's me that had anticipated the game way too much but I think Conquistador was the more complete game. This brings me to the next point which is equipment, it would have been great to follow the trend of Conquistador and see the difference between western and nordic equipment for their natives, something like halberds/pikes instead of spears, longbows/crossbows instead hunting bows, for dual wielders claymores instead of dane axes, scale or plate armor for chain armor etc, like Morcant has with his Christian blessings. I liked that the companions are better fleshed out and have some party banter but there are way too few and not very diverse, in Conquistador you get your starting hechmen with their own little events and then some cool addons like a Trapper, Shamans, an Amazon, an aztec Champion, etc It would have been great to get more followers in Britain with their own, local, characteristics. I loved some events of Viking like the wandering sage one but overall there are fewer and I somehow mostly end up getting the one with the dead deer and poison water. I'll try to explain, I don't know why they moved from an open world to little boxes, an open world fits much better the theme of this games, Expeditions, than closed environments, finding stuff like hidden villages, broken cannons, the underworld god, El Dorado etc out there was really fun. Conquistador feels like it has more quests, with more outcomes, more companions, more random events, more varied equipment, a better camping system and also a very nice open world map. First of all let me start by saying that i've loved the game, love the developers and will buy any Expeditions game that comes along, this is not about bugs I don't care that much for that, but i've started replaying Conquistador (been some years) and I can't stop thinking that Vikings feels more "bland" or emptier than Conquistador to the point that newcomers might actually think that Viking is the first game of the series instead of Conquistador.
